[O Visa] Fashion Designer’s O-1 petition approved

The client is a fashion designer who graduated from one of the prestigious fashion schools in New York City. Just before her graduation, she was selected a winner of the student fashion show hosted by the school and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, with a monetary award.  Because our immigration lawyers were well aware that USCIS does not normally give serious weight to the O-1 applicant’s award at a student level, we have submitted strong evidence how compettiive and renowned the award itself was by showing media articles and the hosting organization’s reputation. In addition, we prepared and submitted abundant evidence, including strong reference letters, to demonstrate her professional acheivements while she was working with multiple fashion brands including young, rising designers.  The petition was approved in a month after filing.  Congratulations!
